Dude, lots of boozy events this weekend. Enjoy and be safe!

New Belgium Tap (+ 1 Can) Takeover at The Surly Goat
Enjoy a tap lineup from one of the fastest growing craft breweries in the country, New Belgium. A brewery rep will be on hand to answer any questions on the brews and give out special glassware for the occasion. What’s on tap: Valentine witbier, La Folie Flanders Red Ale, Dig American Pale Ale, Cocoa Mole Chile Beer and lots more.

Whiskey Lovers Cocktail Mixer at The  Association With Maker’s Mark and Makers 46
Whiskey lovers unite at this Maker’s Mark-dedicated mixer where you can enjoy $6 cocktails featuring the bourbon and special Makers 46. Why would you want to miss that? Plus there will be music by DJ Waldo to keep things festive. You don’t have to be a card-carrying Association member to attend but you do have to RSVP.

  • 9pm-11pm. Free admission. The Association, 110 E 6th Street, Downtown (map).

For the Record: The Coen Brothers
Fans of the Coen Brothers’ movies have to see this cabaret-style show based on the films of Joel and Ethan Coen. Sing along to songs from Fargo, The Hudsucker Proxy, O Brother, Where Art Thou and, naturally, The Big Lebowski. Here’s LAist’s review of the show if you wanna see what it’s about. Get 60 percent off tickets by using the code: DUDE.

  • 9pm. $35. Show at Barre, 1714 N Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles (map). Tickets: (323) 661-6163 ext. 20, www.fortherecordlive.com.

Saturday, April 7

Monthly Open Market in Venice Debuts
Peruse the wide selection of handmade goods, artisanal food and indie designers at the monthly open-air market which is meant to celebrate the spirit of the Venice community. Over 30 LA-based vendors include Ice Ice Shavie, Urban Octopus, Coldwater Canyon Preserves and more will exhibit their wares. Live bands The Dustbowl Revival, Leftover Cuties and Song Preservation Society are scheduled to perform.

  • 10am-5pm. 1010 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice (map).

Beer and Tequila Pairing With Golden Road Brewing at Las Perlas
Ever wonder which tequila would go perfectly with Golden Road’s El Hefe Anejo, which is aged in tequila barrels? The folks at Las Perlas scoured their tequila reserves and found a perfect complement, the Corrido Reposado, a tequila double-aged in Jack Daniels and Maker’s Mark whiskey barrels. Nommy! Try out this pairing and three others at Saturday’s event where Golden Road brew master Jon Carpenter and Las Perlas tequila expert Raul Yrastorza will be on hand to discuss their pairings. Individual beers and tequilas are $6 while the pairings will be $10 each.

  • 4-7pm. Las Perlas, 107 E 6th Street, Downtown (map).

Pour Vous Salon de Champagne Opens
Looks like the folks behind nightlife hot spots La Descarga and Harvard & Stone have hit another one out of the park with new cocktail bar, excuse me, salon de champagne Pour Vous which is on track to open this weekend in the old Forty Deuce spot. But make your reservations (only for parties of eight or more) and as the bar’s Twitter account suggests, arrive early and look sharp to better your chances of getting in. Door is at their complete discretion. With that, good luck getting in! Everyone’s been buzzing about this place for months. They’ve got a kickass bar crew starring Lindsay Nader (Son of a Gun, Harvard & Stone) and Devon Espinosa (Tasting Kitchen, Ink).

  • Pour Vous, 5574 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles (map). (323) 960-0301.
